Back in 2007, while running my own software development company, we faced a familiar frustration. We were great at building software, but terrible at tracking our time. We were losing billable hours, and our project profitability was a constant source of anxiety.
We searched for a tool, but everything we found was either too complex—a Swiss Army knife with a thousand features we didn’t need—or too simple, like messy spreadsheets that were prone to error.
So we built our own solution. With great imagination 🙂 we called it TimeTracker. A simple, focused internal tool designed to do one thing perfectly: track every billable hour. It worked so well that a friend running his own service business saw it and asked if he could use it too. That was the moment PlanArty was born.
For over 15 years, we’ve been on a mission to refine that original idea. Our goal remains the same: to give small service businesses the clarity they need to protect their profitability and the confidence they need to grow, without the clutter.
